The last mile...Today, November 2nd, runners from all over the world took it to the streets of NYC for another edition of the marathon. The 26.2 mile race starts at Verrazano Bridge goes through all the five boroughs-Staten Island, Brooklyn , Queens , Bronx and Manhattan -to finish in Central Park. It is a well known marathon and cities around the globe modeled their own after this one.The price for the top winner is $ 600 000.The NYC Marathon started in 1970 with only 127 runners and $1 entry fee. The co-founder,Fred Lebow, was born in Romania!
