HI !
This week end was another fun one ! It was Corina and Kevin's first wedding anniversary and we celebrated all week end long. First on Saturday we had a barbecue over their place, and then on Sunday we took a trip to northern side of Long Island. We stopped at a couple of farms to pick pumpkins and at some wineries to taste their famous wines .The first vineyard was Pindar where beside tasting the wine we attempted to have a picnic ,but unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate with us. Although sunny, it was windy and cold. We had to take the picnic to a restaurant. We choose Claudie's a well known restaurant since the prohibition. We ate oysters (not me!) and calamari and as a desert we share a tiramisu. On our way back we stopped at Osprey's Dominion Vineyards for another round of wine tasting. Believe it or not , Coni was our designated driver!!!
We arrived home well, in good mood and with nice memories!
I will post some pictures but as always you can see them all on my web album.

Finally, this week end -Columbus Day week end-we maneged to go apple picking to an orchard on Hudson Valley at the base of Mohonk Mountain. The orchard is called "Mr Apples" and is located in the village of High Falls, village which was founded in 1669 as a canal town and it was the rout for barges carrying coal to the Hudson River and NYC until 1898 when it was made obsolete by trains. The farm is a non-commercial operation one ,very friendly and not to crowded. We had a great time ,ate plenty of apples there and pick some more to take home. Afterwards we stopped to see the waterfalls of the Rondout River called "Little Niagara". On our way back we visited New Paltz , founded by Dutch Huguenots in 1678. With 6 of its original Dutch stone houses, the Huguenot St. is the oldest street continuously inhabited in the USA. Beside the historic sites the town is also new, with fancy restaurants and boutiques. It is also the home of SUNY .
This was our day trip, short(80 miles-1 hour and 35 min. drive) but nice and interesting . By the way ,the weather was perfect!
